Green Monkey™ Ingredients

Apple

Apples are a good source of dietary fibre, Vitamin C and potassium. They contain varying amounts of antioxidants as well as other phytonutrients, including carotenoids and bioflavonoids. These substances may help promote heart and vision health and a healthy immune system.

Blueberry

Blueberries are high in antioxidants and contain fibre, Vitamin A and Vitamin C. They also are known as cholesterol reducers.

Carrots

Carrots are bursting with beta-carotene

Carrots are bursting with beta-carotene which the body converts to Vitamin A. Vitamin A is commonly known as the anti-infection vitamin, because it is required for normal functioning of the immune system by helping the cells in the skin to remain healthy. Vitamin A also plays a big part in helping to maintain good eye vision. Carrots also contain traces of folate.

Parsnip

Parsnip is a good source of Vitamin C, folate & dietary fibre and some potassium. Parsnips also play a role in heart health by helping you maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin is rich in potassium and is one of the most popular and nutritious weaning foods. Potassium is great for nerve conduction, muscle contraction and fluid balance. Beta-carotene (a derivative of Vitamin A that is found in brightly coloured fruits and vegetables) helps your baby develop a strong and durable immune system.

Sweet Potato (Kumara)

Sweet Potato gives your baby another source of Potassium which contributes to water balance and a healthy heart. With its sweet taste and nutritious makeup, it helps to broaden your baby’s taste buds whilst not spoiling them with artificial processed foods. Kumara also contains Vitamin A, C, E and fibre.

Silverbeet

Silverbeet is high in beta carotene which our body converts to Vitamin A that helps to maintain the integrity of our eyes and skin. Green vegetables contain varying amounts of potent phytochemicals, such as lutein and indoles, as well as other essential nutrients. These substances improve eye health and keep bones and teeth strong.

Beetroot

Beetroot is a good source of minerals, particularly an easy to assimilate iron. It contains vitamins A, B and C, sodium, potassium, calcium and chlorine.

Beef

Beef and lamb are important sources of protein, B group vitamins including B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12, as well as the essential minerals, iron and zinc. Lean beef and lamb are nutrient dense foods, in other words, a small serving of lean beef or lamb gives a large amount of important nutrients for health. There are surprisingly few calories in lean red meat and due to its high protein content.
