People often ask us why our brand is named Green Monkey™?

During the initial concept stage of Green Monkey™ Charlotte used to talk regularly on the phone with her nephew Charlie, aged three. Each time Charlotte would call Charlie a different name like “Blue Fish” or “Red Tractor”. But Charlie only ever called her a “Green Monkey”, something he found hilarious every time!

So when it came to naming the brand – with vegetables known as ‘greens’ and parents often calling their children ‘monkeys’, it became obvious. And 2004 was the “Year of the Green Monkey” in the Chinese New Year Calendar. And they only have the “Year of the Green Monkey” once every 100 years!
